Dr. Casebeer graduated as a veterinarian from WCVM in 2013. She initially practiced in Red Deer before moving to Lethbridge to practice at Park Pet Hospital.
Family is very important to her, and returning to the Olds area for Sara is like coming home.
She grew up on her family farm near Carstairs and is thrilled to be so much closer to her parents, who still live there.
Dr. Casebeer is an avid reader. She and her husband enjoy traveling for fun but equally enjoy being at home with their golden retriever Tessa.
Loving all animals started at a very young age on the farm, and her four horses are part of her extended family!
What we love about Dr. Casebeer is how she has embraced our team, clients, and community. She truly believes in and upholds the high standards our hospital was founded on.
When I was a little girl, I could always be found wherever the animals were, whether petting horses or brushing and wanting to help feed my grandparents’ dogs. For my seventh birthday I was given the opportunity to begin riding lessons, which quickly turned into a lifelong passion.
My love for our family pets and the horses I was lucky to learn from has turned into what is now my career. After high school I took a break to work and compete with my horses before returning to school. I moved to Olds in 2009 to begin the AHT program at Olds College and graduated in 2011.
After completing my practicum in Okotoks and working for the summer I moved to Lethbridge to complete my Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, I graduated with my degree in 2013.
Once I got my degree, I accepted a job outside of the veterinary field but quickly realized that I needed to get back to what I love doing. I began working at Olds Pet Clinic in 2015 and learned so much and loved getting to know all our clients and their pets.
After a couple years I took the opportunity to work up north in Animal Control, gaining a different perspective of the animal health field. As much as I gained from that experience I could not wait to move back home.
When the opportunity presented itself to come back to Olds Pet Clinic I jumped at the chance. It truly was like coming home being able to see so many familiar faces and having the pleasure to get to meet many new ones.
I now live on an acreage near Cremona with my husband, stepson, 3 dogs, 3 cats, horses, goats and chickens. In my spare time I can be found with my family, out on the acreage with the animals or getting out to nature for hiking or camping.
I grew up around animals and they have always been a huge part of my life. We had dogs, cats, hedgehogs, guinea pigs and even a pot-bellied pig.
My love of animals led me to take horseback riding lessons at the age of nine along with joining the local light horse 4H club until I graduated high school. Once I graduated, I knew I wanted to live in a smaller community, so moved to Sundre in 2011.
I began to work in and around the area and in 2014 decided to go back to school where I obtained a diploma in Land and Water Resources from Olds College.
I enjoyed the work I was doing but I knew my true passion was to work with animals. I graduated from the Animal Health Technology Program at Olds College in 2019.
I now live in Olds with my husband and our dogs Bocephus a Bluetick Coonhound, Nova a Cane Corso and Juno a husky mix who is our foster fail. I also keep a growing flock of chickens at my parent’s farm just outside Didsbury, which has become a passion of mine.
I love that I am able to work in the community I live in and get to meet all of our great clients and their fur babies.
As long as I can remember I have carried a passion for animals.
As I got older my desire to make a career out of animal care became stronger. I moved to Olds in August of 2018 to pursue this by taking the Veterinary Medical Reception course through Olds College.
As I finished up my year, Olds Pet Clinic took me on as their practicum student. After spending the month of May 2019 with them they hired me on as their Client Care Coordinator.
I have two cats at home, Cloud and Helen who are both domestic shorthairs. If I am not here, you can find me spending time with family and friends or keeping myself busy at my second job.
Having this opportunity means so much to me and I am excited to meet and get to know each one of our clients and their fur babies.
